**Description/Job Summary**
This person operates an electric Turret lift in the Distribution Centers Warehouse and Partial Pallet area. **Responsibilities/Duties**
* Drives electric powered Turret lift equipped with lifting devices to push, pull, lift, and stack tier or move materials or equipment in warehouse storage or factory. This title also encompasses the operation of High Bay or Stock Picker trucks. These types of MHE often operate at excessive heights. Both Trucks employ the use of RF scanning equipment for proper identification of storage destinations.
* Obtains pallet from forklift driver, moves Turret down assigned row and stores pallet at proper bin location. May also put away cartons in reserve storage locations where the carton barcode and label barcode must be scanned to move cartons from their personal card to a reserve location. Operator obtains pallets, scans pallet label and then stores pallets in assigned bin locations and then scans the bin location.
* Obtains stock from bin location, transports stock to forklift driver for transportation to shipping staging area. May remove cartons from storage areas and place in cages. Cartons are later scanned with RF in order to move from reserve locations to person card locations.
* Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
* Positions forks under loaded pallets, skids, boxes or materials for transport to designated location.
* Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
* May load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device.
* Completes daily Turret service form for routine maintenance or malfunctions.
* Turret operator and assigned lift driver work in team effort to complete daily transactions.
* Turret must also be aware of any heat/air or sprinkler devices suspended from the ceiling that could be damaged when lifting to maximum heights.
* Operator is responsible for reporting any inoperable safety device to maintenance. These devices help to insure the safety of others.
* Follow all rules of safety and operation pertaining to Turret usage.
* Operator obtains pallet at end of aisle (storage), scans pallet label, moves to bin indicated by computer, store pallet in bin, and scans bin location with scanner. Operator returns to end of aisle.
* Operator moves to bin indicated by computer, obtains pallet from bin, scans pallet and one case on pallet, moves to end of aisle and deposits pallet on the side. Pallet must be placed so as not to protrude out form the bins, causing a safety hazard.
* Both storage and retrieval operations require lifting to heights up to 8 levels, maneuvering forks in tight places to obtain or aside pallet carefully without damaging Turret, bins, or goods being stored or retrieved. It takes time to develop the technique to perform the task smoothly, gently, and efficiently.
* Operator must remain focused at all times and constantly aware of his/her surroundings to avoid injury to persons who may be passing through the breezeways or at the end of the aisles.
* Operator obtains pallet at end of aisle (storage), scans pallet label, moves to bin indicated by computer, stands up and manually moves cases from pallet on forks to pallet in bin or vice versa, scanning each case label prior to moving.
* If no other pallet will combine with the pallet on the forks, operator must move to the bin indicated on computer screen and store pallet in assigned bin.
* It may be necessary, on occasion, to reach into the bin and rearrange cases on the pallet at heights up to 6 levels.
* At all times, operator wears safety harness as a precaution to avoid injury.
* Storage, retrieval and combinations require machine lifting to heights up to 8 levels, maneuvering forks in tight places to obtain or aside pallet carefully without damaging Turret, bins, or goods being stored or retrieved. It also requires standing up and manually lifting boxes that could range in excess of 50 lbs and placing them individually into bins up to 6 levels high. (Levels 7 & 8 are for storage only and do not hold pallets in combine status). It takes time to develop the technique to perform the task smoothly, gently, and efficiently.
* Operator must remain focused at all times and constantly aware of his/her surroundings to avoid injury to persons who may be passing through the breezeways or at the end of the aisles.
* When necessary, operator must drive Turret off of guide wire and manually maneuver machine into the next aisle and onto the guide wire in that aisle. This must be done within a confined space where guardrails, walls, and bins could be easily bumped or damaged, also causing damage to the Turret. Some maneuvering is done in potentially high traffic areas as well.
**Required Experience**
At least 3 months experience driving any motorized MH equipment. **Required Qualifications**
This position requires use of simple arithmetic after instruction and the operator must pass written and driving exam to obtain lift license.
