We have an opportunity for an Advanced Hardware Engineer to join us at Honeywell, where you will be responsible for driving and supporting projects that focuses on product life cycle management to include obsolescence, cost reductions, and design for supply chain resiliency actions. The role requires an entrepreneurial approach to apply hardware design expertise in a global environment while coordinating with cross functional team in design centers, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams to generate and implement cost saving. This role includes identification of product cost savings opportunities through alternate supplier qualification, product design standardization, and factory transfers.

You will work out of our St Charles, IL location on a hybrid work schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate in kaizen/ideation events with the VE/CE team and R&D to Manage VE/CE project liaising with R&D, manufacturing, sourcing and commercial teams to define the work. Monitor progress and manage risks to achieve successful completion.
  • Review / modify the current electronic board design considering the current technologies in terms of component, materials & process, propose ideations to reduce BoM cost by redesign & optimization.
  • Conduct redesign activities of an existing product using DFX (design for manufacturing / testability)
  • Develop test plans and test procedures to implement changes.
  • Build and test prototypes and follow up on implementation in production.
MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in hardware engineering or a related role
  • Strong knowledge of hardware design principles and methodologies
  • Proficiency in hardware design tools and software
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
