Job Description

The Catholic Community of South Baltimore is seeking candidates for a part-time Bookkeeper. The Bookkeeper serves as a staff resource in support of the pastor, fulfilling parish administrative needs within Finance. They direct these efforts within expertise within shared ministries and with Catholic values. This position works 24 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, 9 am until 3 pm and is benefit eligible.

Essential Functions

• Maintain an accurate filing and record-keeping system for all parish bookkeeping, including accounts payable, recording weekly revenue, and preparation of bi-weekly payroll.
• Prepare checks for vendors (weekly).
• Monitor collections, counting teams, and recordings of parish revenue.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation. Prepare monthly reports of income/expenses.
• Serves as a resource to the pastor and staff in parish financial matters.

Position Qualifications

• Associate degree in Bookkeeping or Accounting.
• Proven work experience (at least three years) as a Bookkeeper.
• Excellent knowledge of QuickBooks Online and automated payroll system.
• Knowledge of general office procedures, Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Effectively manage time and strong communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church and its mission.
• Support and adhere to Archdiocese of Baltimore policies.
