Job Title: Buyer II

Location: 2800 9th Avenue, South Milwaukee, WI 53172

Schedule: 100% Onsite; Shift times pending, overtime may be required

Position Summary:

The Buyer II plays a critical role in managing the procurement process, ensuring timely sourcing, contracting, and delivery of goods and services to support manufacturing operations. This role involves analyzing part consumption and characteristics, resolving procurement, quality, invoice, and inventory-related issues, and executing SAP transactions accurately. The Buyer II collaborates closely with customer service, suppliers, Product Engineering, and Production teams to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process , including sourcing, negotiating, and contracting with suppliers.
  • Analyze part consumption behavior and other part characteristics to optimize inventory and procurement decisions.
  • Resolve issues related to procurement, quality, invoices, and inventory , ensuring proper SAP transaction processing.
  • Collaborate with customer service, internal departments, and external suppliers to ensure material availability and production support.
  • Partner with Engineering and Production teams to ensure alignment with material requirements and quality standards.
  • Monitor and maintain key MRP health metrics to support inventory optimization.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements , including Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports and documentation for procurement and quality assurance purposes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing and production planning in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in SAP for purchasing and planning functions .
  • APICS Certification (CPIM) is a plus.
  • Knowledge and application of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies ; Green Belt certification a plus.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills with suppliers.
  • Experience in quality assurance and maintaining reporting accuracy.
  • Strong capability in process improvement initiatives .
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams .
  • Familiarity with MRP health metrics and inventory optimization.
