Seeking an experienced Buyer/Planner for a leading manufacturing organization located in Escondido, California. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a strong background in procurement and production planning who are ready to drive operational excellence and optimize supply chain performance. Looking for candidates who expertly balance inventory management, supplier relations, and cost efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement effective purchasing strategies for assigned product categories.
• Obtain competitive quotes and leverage negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and maintain strong vendor partnerships.
• Oversee vendor accounts, coordinate returns and repairs, and monitor outstanding orders to ensure seamless processes.
• Monitor order progress, expedite shipments when needed, and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
• Interpret demand forecasts and production plans to determine optimal inventory levels and timely procurement.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering, production, and logistics teams to support smooth integration of components.
• Champion initiatives for cost reduction and continuous process improvement within procurement and inventory functions.
• Maintain up-to-date inventory records and support production scheduling to effectively balance supply and demand.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of combined experience in buying and production planning in a manufacturing setting.
• Proven expertise in negotiating pricing and contract terms with suppliers.
• Strong analytical capabilities, organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight deadlines.
• Exceptional communication and teamwork skills for successful interaction with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficient in ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Great Plains) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $70,000 – $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Work Arrangement

• Onsite position at the Escondido, CA facility.
• Standard office hours: Monday through Friday.
