Job Description

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client’s medical facility based in Carrollton, TX 75010. This is a 3-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm

Pay Range: $23 per hour

*Pay rate is based on years of experience and educational qualifications.

Type of certification required: CMA and BLS

Bilingual in Spanish

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of clinical and administrative duties to ensure excellent patient care. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who excels in both patient care and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Clinical Support:

Perform all duties within the scope of a Medical Assistant’s practice, including operating diagnostic equipment (without interpreting tests), removing staples from superficial wounds, changing wound dressings, and obtaining cultures.

Administer non-intravenous medications and perform simple specimen collection using non-invasive techniques.

Collect blood specimens via venipuncture or capillary methods, and perform EKGs.

Conduct quality control checks on medical equipment to ensure proper functionality.

Sterilize medical equipment using an autoclave to maintain patient safety and hygiene.

Rooming & Preparation:

Room patients according to established policy and procedure, ensuring patients are prepared for their examination or treatment.

Documentation:

Record patient care documentation accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring all necessary information is captured in the medical record.

Coordination of Care:

Coordinate patient care as directed by physicians, company standards, and policies, ensuring smooth workflow and patient satisfaction.

Confidentiality & Professionalism:

Maintain patient confidentiality at all times and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with patients and staff.

Room Management & Infection Control:

Organize, clean, and restock exam and treatment rooms, ensuring they are properly equipped for patient visits.

Follow standard infection control precautions to ensure a safe and sterile environment for patients and staff.

Communication & Screening:

Conduct telephone and in-person screenings to gather relevant patient information without requiring clinical judgment or decision-making.

Demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills in all patient interactions.

Support of Delegated Orders:

Support and follow Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO) as outlined by physicians and clinic protocols.

Other Duties:

Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors or medical staff.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification.

Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification for healthcare providers (must be obtained at time of hire or within 30 days of hire).

Basic computer literacy required, with intermediate Excel skills.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

Excellent communication skills and strong customer service orientation.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.

Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
