DATA ARCHITECT

Summary of the Role:

Seeking an experienced cloud data architect to drive the organization's data strategies and initiatives.

The architect will modernize, architect, and shape the future of the enterprise data warehouse, design and optimize data engineering pipelines using modern tools and technologies.

The architect will devise a strategy to design and enhance the BI reporting systems to drive the decision-making process of the organization.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional global teams and should have exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills.

The architect will work under the Global Data Engineering Manager and lead a team of talented Data and BI engineers to realize the goals of the organization's Data and BI strategies.

Responsibilities :

Business Acumen: Provides thought leadership and recommendations to the business partners and stakeholders to solve complex issues and problems. Develops business cases and calculates the TCO and ROI of an initiative.

Translates business requirements into technical deliverables that align with overall organization goals and vision.

Data Discovery and Profiling: Performs data discovery in Dynamics 365 and SAP ERP systems. Profiles the source data using available technologies to answer key questions for data modeling. Also, makes sure that data is of acceptable quality for data modeling.

Design and maintain Data Architecture: Develops and implements an overall organizational data strategy, which includes but is not limited to data modeling of conceptual, logical, and physical designs, baselining development standards and best practices, implementation and management of data warehouses and BI systems, and keeping record of strategies, designs, and decisions with thorough documentation.

Data Quality, Security, and Compliance: Collaborates with master data manager to develop data quality frameworks, devises, and implements data governance best practices such as RBAC, masking, and encryption. Monitors and enhances data governance policies and frameworks and educates the stakeholders in adopting the same.

Data Integration and Management: Conceptualize, conduct proof of concepts, and design data engineering and data integration pipelines. Propose solutions for production issues, fix bugs, devises SIT/UAT test strategies and implements them. Conduct code reviews, provide feedback on the development components, and formulate code deployment strategies.

Collaborating with Stakeholders: Works closely with cross-functional and IT teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Shows empathy and aligns with multicultural global team members.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Fosters continuous improvement and stays up to date with the latest trends in the field of data architecture and data engineering. Encourage and provide technical thought leadership to the leadership team on a continuous basis.

Competencies and Skills:

1. Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

2. 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data warehousing, or business intelligence platforms is necessary.

3. Certifications in Togaf/Dama, Azure and Snowflake is highly desired.

4. Working experience in Agile project management set up is a plus.

5. Strong collaboration, conflict management, negotiation, and communication skills, with multi-year experience in collaborating with data mangers, data engineers, business stake holders, and business partners.

6. In-Depth knowledge of modern data architecture and management principles is desired.

7. Domain knowledge in manufacturing, retail, and Dynamics 365/SAP ERP is preferred.

8. Strong working experience with data warehousing technologies, ETL tools, and data visualization software. (Fivetran or similar EL tool, Coalesce/DBT, Snowflake, PowerBI, and Azure data stack, Data Modeling tools)
