Collections Specialist – Fintech / Small Business Lending
Location: Great Neck, NY (On-site)
Salary: $60,000 – $80,000 + Bonus
We have partnered with a Fintech company delivering fast, flexible capital to small and medium-sized businesses. The team is growing and looking for a hands-on Collections Specialist who thrives on solving problems, negotiating with empathy, and keeping things moving in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
Manage a portfolio of delinquent accounts and work directly with business owners to negotiate payment plans, resolve disputes, and maintain positive relationships.
Conduct outbound calls daily — balancing professionalism, persistence, and a customer-first approach.
Analyze account histories to prioritize recovery efforts and implement tailored strategies that improve collection performance.
Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and share insights that enhance operational efficiency.
Ensure full compliance with all applicable regulations (FDCPA, TCPA, etc.).
Provide timely, accurate reporting on recovery progress and account status.
What We're Looking For
2 + years of hands-on collections experience, ideally in small business, used auto, or consumer lending environments.
Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to de-escalate and find solutions.
Comfort working in a metrics-driven environment with clear performance targets.
Proficiency in CRM or collections software and Excel.
Spanish fluency highly preferred.
