Job Description

TRC's client has a Direct hire opportunity for a Commercial HVAC Sales Engineer to join their team!

They are looking for an individual with strong commercial HVAC experience, sales experience is not required!

The Sales Engineer develop business within the Lagrange and surrounding areas; responsible for cold calling, client visits, estimating and acting as a commercial HVAC subject matter expert!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Business Development
  • Identify and qualify industrial/commercial prospects.
  • Conduct market research and attend industry events to generate leads.
  • Build a strong network of engineers, contractors, and architects.
  • Project Development
  • Deliver technical presentations and proposals.
  • Perform site visits, assess systems, and define project requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers on HVAC solutions and prepare bids.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing.
  • Client Management
  • Develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Ensure high-level service throughout the sales cycle.
  • Resolve issues and monitor project progress.
  • Technical Expertise
  • Deep knowledge of HVAC systems (AC, refrigeration, boilers, BAS, energy efficiency).
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and codes.
  • Sales Performance
  • Meet/exceed sales targets.
  • Report sales activity and refine strategies as needed.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in HVAC sales (commercial/industrial preferred).
  • Proven sales success and technical HVAC knowledge.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office.
  • Willingness to travel within assigned territory.
  • 3+ years of direct, self-generated sales experience.
  • 7+ years in the HVAC industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
