Job Description

A prestigious boutique law firm in Orange County, specializing in providing high-quality legal services to businesses and individuals across a wide range of commercial litigation matters is seeking a talented and motivated Commercial Litigation Attorney with 2-5 years of experience to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial litigation, including handling complex disputes, drafting legal documents, and managing cases from inception to resolution. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who is eager to take on significant responsibilities and grow their practice in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, business torts, real estate, and partnership disputes.
  • Manage a caseload from start to finish, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, answers, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients, offering strategic insights into potential outcomes and litigation risks.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys and collaborate with other team members on complex cases.
  • Negotiate settlements and represent clients in mediation and arbitration proceedings.
  • Keep clients informed on case developments and manage expectations throughout the litigation process.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 2-5 years of experience in commercial litigation (experience in business disputes, contract law, or real estate is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of California state and federal court rules and procedures.
  • Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Admitted to practice in California (active and in good standing member of the State Bar).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with e-discovery and case management tools.
  • Trial experience or a desire to gain trial experience.
  • A passion for growing within a boutique law firm and contributing to its continued success.
