🚧 We’re Hiring: Civil Utility Estimator (Hampton Roads Area) 🚧
Are you an experienced estimator with a passion for civil utility projects? We’re looking for a Civil Utility Estimator to join a dynamic team working on water, sewer, storm drainage, and site development projects across Hampton Roads.
Why This Role Matters:
You’ll play a critical role in shaping accurate, competitive bids that keep projects on track and within budget. From analyzing plans and specs to collaborating with project managers and trade partners, your expertise will drive success from preconstruction through award.
What You’ll Do:
✔ Prepare detailed estimates for civil utility projects
✔ Perform quantity takeoffs and review drawings/specifications
✔ Evaluate subcontractor/vendor quotes for accuracy and competitiveness
✔ Support value engineering and constructability reviews
✔ Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits
What We’re Looking For:
✅ Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
✅ 3+ years of civil utility estimating experience
✅ Proficiency with digital takeoff tools and unit pricing systems (RSMeans, Gordian)
✅ Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials
✅ Skilled in Microsoft Office; Bluebeam experience a plus
Location: Virginia Beach area (on-site role)
