Job Description

Our client is an established, General Contractor/Developer based in Grand Rapids, with a strong presence throughout Michigan. They've been in business for over 50 years and seek an experienced Project Manager based in Grand Rapids, MI.

This role will report to the VP of Construction and play a critical role in the development of their business in Western Michigan. They have a strong pipeline including both ground up and renovation work in Western Michigan. They focus on Multifamily, Senior Living and Mixed-Use projects, ranging from $10M to $40M.

This individual will have the opportunity to work on a hybrid structure, reporting to the job site throughout the week.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison for clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations, industry best practices, and company policies.
  • Evaluate and approve subcontractor proposals while monitoring and managing their performance.
  • Develop, manage, and analyze project budgets, tracking expenses and resolving cost variances.
  • Oversee and manage all phases of construction projects, ensuring on-time delivery, adherence to budget, and exceptional quality standards.
  • Cultivate a collaborative and positive team environment to drive project success.
  • Continuously enhance project management workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a construction related field, preferred
  • 5+ years of commercial GC experience, preferred
  • 3+ years as a Project Manager, running commercial projects, required
  • Familiarity with construction management software, Procore experience is a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of submittals, RFI’s, and project close out procedures
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi task

Compensation & Benefit Information

  • Salary between $100,000 - $125,000, dependent on experience
  • Yearly bonus, based on project profit and success
