Summary:

The Contracting Manager is responsible for ensuring the organization engages in mutually beneficial contracts with our customers. This role works internally with Sales, Solutions and Risk Management to ensure that our interests are represented, and exposure is minimized in our contracts with our customers. This person negotiates directly with our customers and is the internal expert related to contracting.

Work Scheduled: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm (CST) and evenings and weekends as needed.

Task:

• Represents TA Dedicated through contracting with Customers, Vendors and other stakeholders.
• Develops legal documents including (but not limited to) Master Service Agreements, Addendums, Pricing Sheets, Trailer Interchange agreements, and Non-Disclosure Agreements.
• Protects our organization by negotiating contracts that minimize exposure and various types of risk (legal, monetary, and business).
• Serves as expert resource to the Sales team and can coach the team to have productive customer conversations that articulate our desired contracting approach and outcomes.
• Maintains appropriate organizational processes to ensure that legal documents are appropriately stored and maintained throughout the life cycle of a contract.
• Serves as the expert on contracting systems and tools that support our contracting process (i.e.-DocuSign, RVI, etc.)
• Maintains and upholds Signature Authority process to satisfy our internal audit expectations.
• Provides insight and guidance to Executive Leadership team to represent the company’s interests.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum five (5) years in contract management.
• Professional and legal writing skills to develop and edit appropriate legal documents.
• Negotiation experience to work with our customers and represent the company in a professional manner.
• Familiar with pricing and rate structures, as well as our customer billing processes.
• Extreme attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Preferred:

• Prior experience in the Transportation industry is preferred.
• Understands the transportation industry and the fundamental contracting concepts between shippers and carriers.
• Understands current trends and developments in the transportation industry through networking and learning to ensure our contracting approach aligns to current industry conventions.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
