Job Description

HTI is working with a Tier 1 automotive supplier and one of the largest employee-owned companies in North America. With the new facility in Spartanburg, SC now operational, we’re hiring a Controls Engineer (2nd and 3rd shift) to join a high-performance engineering team supporting state-of-the-art automation and robotics systems.

What You Need:

  • 2+ years of experience with Rockwell Automation platforms, including: Allen-Bradley CompactLogix, GuardLogix, PanelView Plus
  • Programming and debugging PLC, HMI, and robotic systems (e.g., welding, sealing, fastening, and assembly automation) experience
  • Electrical installation, hardware setup, and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience with computer-aided modeling is a plus

What Your Role Will Look Like:

  • Design and program PLCs, HMIs, and robotic systems for automated manufacturing processes
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning automated and electrical equipment
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives—reducing cycle times, standardizing processes, and implementing error-proofing strategies
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure project success and manufacturing efficiency
  • Document and manage project details while supporting team-based problem-solving
  • Embrace flexibility by rotating through job responsibilities and supporting plant-wide needs
  • Operate with urgency and integrity to meet internal and external customer expectations
