We're on a mission to create compelling growth content across various channels, including web, ebooks, white papers, infographics, video, social media, blogs and events. This person will enforce style standards and editorial processes to drive quality and consistency across all customer-facing content, which is the primary expression of the Akamai voice to our customers and stakeholders.

Partner with the best

As a key team member, the Copy Editor drives the creation of editorial standards and enforces those standards across all content. The role is responsible for the copy editing and proofreading process, which involves correction, strengthening, fact-checking, and organization, to produce consistent, accurate, and complete work that professionally represents Akamai products and its overall brand. 

As a Copy Editor, you will be responsible for:

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative tech marketing environment
  • Drive brand standards and voice via editorial process and editorial style guide
  • Copy edit landing pages, emails, blog posts, presentation slides, white papers, product briefs, sales materials, and other deliverables 
  • Provide correction, strengthening and organization, along with other modifications as needed
  • Proofread (final quality check) all relevant assets and provide final approval/ sign off for production 
  • Work with stakeholders to improve upstream copy effectiveness and professionalism and expression of Akamai tone/ voice

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 8 years of relevant experience in copyediting and proofreading materials across marketing, communications, and design/creative, preferably in the tech industry
  • Be proficient on a required copy editing test
  • Have impeccable spelling, grammar, usage and knowledge of AP style
  • Have a keen eye for detail and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects within tight deadlines
  • Have some level of content editing experience 
  • Have the ability to work across multiple templates and tools 
  • Have experience working with global content destined for localization/translation

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $85,800 - $178,200/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.
