About the Opportunity:

A leading global freight forwarder is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Customs Entry Writer to join its Pittsburgh operations team. Position Summary:

The Customs Entry Writer is responsible for preparing and submitting accurate import documentation in compliance with U.S. Customs regulations. This role is essential to ensuring timely clearance and delivery of imported goods while maintaining strong communication with clients, brokers, and government agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process customs entries for air and ocean import shipments
  • Classify goods accurately according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
  • Submit entry documentation to U.S. Customs and related government agencies
  • Communicate with clients, customs brokers, and internal departments to resolve any compliance issues or documentation discrepancies
  • Track shipments and ensure timely release and delivery of cargo
  • Maintain accurate records in the company's compliance and logistics systems
  • Stay up to date with changes in customs regulations and industry best practices

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in customs entry writing or import compliance
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and HTS classification
  • Familiarity with ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) and entry submission processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to manage deadlines
  • Experience with industry software such as CargoWise is a plus
  • Customs Broker License (preferred but not required)
