Job Description

itD is seeking a Data Scientist to help align our App Ads delivery stack with advertiser-perceived performance, driving measurable improvements across a critical area of the advertising business. This role plays a key part in shaping the future of App advertising by applying deep analytical and machine learning expertise to highly ambiguous, technically complex problems. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in data analysis and ML systems, along with a proven ability to deliver high-quality insights that influence product and infrastructure decisions across cross-functional teams.

Location: Remote (U.S. only), with a preference for PST working hours.

Estimated Start Date: January 19, 2026

Duration: 9 months (LOA backfill; potential for extension)

Responsibilities

• Analyze end-to-end App Ads delivery performance to identify gaps between system outcomes and advertiser-perceived results.
• Develop and execute data analyses to evaluate attribution, ranking, and delivery behavior across the ads stack.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, data science) to define metrics, experiments, and success criteria.
• Apply machine learning and statistical techniques to improve modeling, measurement, and decision-making within ads systems.
• Investigate ambiguous problem spaces, form hypotheses, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Communicate insights and results to senior stakeholders with clarity and technical rigor.

Internal Responsibilities

• Attend regular internal practice community meetings.
• Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.
• Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material).
• Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.
• Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual).

Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.

Required qualifications and skills

• 4+ years of professional experience in a data science or analytics role (IC5-scoped).
• Strong experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and/or statistical tools such as R.
• Demonstrated experience working with machine learning systems in production or applied environments.
• Ability to operate effectively in technically complex and highly ambiguous problem spaces.

Preferred qualifications and skills

• Prior experience working on advertising systems or ads-related measurement problems.
• Experience in the mobile app or app monetization ecosystem.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience required.
