Position Title: Global Supply Chain Manager

Our client, a fast-growing valve manufacturer & distributor, is looking for a Global Supply Chain Manager to be based in Houston, TX.

Our client is an internationally based company who operates from a 100,000 sq. ft. facility in Houston, Tx, with a complete Mod Shop for valve customization. They offer a wide range of products across twelve distinct product lines to meet industry demands. Specializing in API 6D products like Slab Gate Valves, Expanding Gate Valves, and Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves. Our client ensures timely availability of valves through a growing distribution network.

Position Summary

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Supply Chain Manager in Houston, TX. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for demand planning, supply and inventory management, procurement, and utilizing analytical skills to optimize the supply chain operations daily.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a global supply chain strategy to support business objectives.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and manufacturers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Optimize the procurement process for raw materials and components used in valve production.
  • Oversee logistics, transportation, and inventory management for international operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements in all regions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to align supply chain activities with company goals.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain processes (planning, procurement, production, logistics, distribution).
  • Familiarity with valve industry standards (e.g., ASME, API, or ISO certifications).
  • Expertise in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

Analytical Skills

  • Proficiency in demand forecasting, cost optimization, and risk assessment.
  • Ability to analyze supply chain performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Experience leading cross-functional and multicultural teams.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills for dealing with suppliers, stakeholders, and customers.

Regulatory Knowledge

  • Familiarity with international trade compliance, customs regulations, and tariffs.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and environmental standards in manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
  • A Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or operations, ideally within the manufacturing or industrial sector.
  • Proven experience working in global markets and managing international suppliers.
  • Industry-specific experience in valves, pumps, or related manufacturing equipment is a plus.
