Director of Golf
Golf course in Napa, California is looking for a Director of Golf.
Position Overview:
This is the number one position in the management of the golf club operations. Directs and oversees all aspects of club and golf operations including activities and relationships between members, guests, associates, and the community. Position has the ultimate responsibility for maximum member and guest satisfaction, as well as financial performance. Directs and administers programs to maximize revenue/yield management with a strong emphasis on membership sales. Develops, implements, and monitors annual budget, revenue goals, and expenses for golf operations department. Provides timely and accurate reporting of all financial and non-financial information as directed, requested, or required by management or representatives. Monitors monthly and other financial reports/statements on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis for the facility and takes effective corrective action when necessary. Develops, maintains, and administers sound organizational plans and initiates improvements as necessary. Work closely with all of the hotel departments to maximize total property revenue: Sales, PR, and F&B. Conduct effective hiring, training, coaching, and counselling according to hotel polices. Creates a member service-oriented atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and exceeds the expectations of the members. Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve member satisfaction. Oversees the care and maintenance of all the facility’s physical assets. Develop and execute the golf marketing and membership plans with Director of Resort. Ensures the highest standards of quality for food and beverage service on golf courses. Implements policies and procedures for the Golf and Maintenance Departments, including compliance of all company standards relating to quality of products and services. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Manages department members that may include, but is not limited to Head Professional, Tournament Coordinator, Director of Instruction, Membership Director, Golf Services Manager, Superintendent, and Retail Manager. Provides leadership and vision to golf staff, building people, and preparing them for career advancement. Facilitates weekly staff meetings.
Requirements:
Must be a member in good standing of the PGA of America or LPGA of America.
Strong business acumen with demonstrated skills.
Successful completion of a recognized golf management/operations program.
Experience as a director of golf in a four or five-diamond resort is preferred.
Experience with a diversity of golf course operations such as resort or semi-private.
Thorough understanding of the golf retail industry.
Must be polished, professional, and have excellent communication skills.
A demonstrated passion for member and guest services, and exceeding expectations.
Great computer skills required, including experience with Microsoft Office, tee time reservations, POS, retail inventory, and familiarity with web based golf partners.
Compensation:
$150,000.00 – $175,000.00 per year.
