Director of Operations – Data Centers

Locations: Dallas, Toronto, or Northern Virginia

A global data center developer is seeking a Director of Operations to lead and oversee operational performance across multiple campuses. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless delivery of services, operational excellence, and readiness for new site activations while fostering a strong, safety-driven culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop campus managers and site operations teams.
• Drive operational alignment across multiple sites, ensuring consistency in maintenance, incident, and change management.
• Act as the escalation point for campus managers while empowering local problem-solving.
• Oversee campus go-live readiness, including staffing, processes, and budgets.
• Partner with internal teams (Delivery, Finance, Security, Supply Chain) to support cohesive operations.
• Build strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and long-term success.
• Manage budgets effectively while maintaining service quality.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years’ leadership experience in mission-critical MEP environments, ideally hyperscale data centers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Deep knowledge of data center infrastructure (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
• Strong expertise in incident and change management processes.
• Proven ability to lead diverse, multi-site teams in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
