EHS Manager – Construction (CSP Required)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager – Construction is responsible for leading, developing, and enforcing safety programs across large-scale construction and installation projects. This role ensures compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations while promoting a proactive safety culture among employees, subcontractors, and project leadership. The EHS Manager serves as a key advisor to project management and site leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all EHS activities for construction projects from pre-construction through closeout
  • Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific EHS plans, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable local/state safety regulations
  • Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs), pre-task planning, and risk assessments
  • Perform routine site audits, inspections, and incident investigations
  • Track, analyze, and report safety metrics, incidents, and corrective actions
  • Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training programs for employees and contractors
  • Review contractor safety programs, submittals, and documentation for compliance
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and clients to integrate safety into all phases of work
  • Support emergency response planning and execution
  • Promote continuous improvement and a strong safety-first culture

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) – REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 5–10 years of EHS experience in construction or industrial environments
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926)
  • Experience managing safety programs on large or multi-site construction projects
  • Proven leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in safety management systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale industrial, commercial, or infrastructure construction projects
  • OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and incident investigation training
  • Experience working with multiple subcontractors and high-risk activities
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills
