Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Environmental Health Safety Specialist to lead and support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs. The ideal candidate will ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry-specific safety standards. This role plays a key part in promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enforce EHS policies, programs, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as a liaison during inspections and audits by government agencies.
  • Identify workplace hazards and conduct comprehensive risk assessments.
  • Recommend and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
  • Deliver EHS training to employees and management.
  • Foster a strong understanding and awareness of safety policies and responsibilities.
  • Oversee waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Monitor environmental impact and ensure proper documentation and disposal methods.
  • Develop and maintain safety protocols including emergency response, evacuation procedures, and safety drills.
  • Prepare compliance reports for internal use and regulatory authorities.
  • Maintain detailed records of EHS incidents, audits, training sessions, and inspections.
  • Work cross-functionally with teams such as operations, maintenance, engineering, and HR to integrate EHS practices.
  • Analyze trends and metrics to improve EHS performance.
  • Drive safety culture through continuous monitoring and improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and lead emergency preparedness and response procedures.
  • Ensure employees are trained and ready to respond effectively.
  • Enforce EHS standards and oversight for contractors and vendors on-site.
  • Manage the EHS budget and identify cost-effective improvements and equipment needs.
  • Stay current with EHS regulations, technologies, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in EHS or compliance in a manufacturing, logistics, or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Certification in EHS (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, training, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Speaks Chinese (preferred)
