Your new role

Within this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for ground-up and interior renovation projects in sectors such as aviation, municipal buildings, and county infrastructure.
  • Interpret and analyze bid documents, drawings, and specifications to identify scope, risks, and compliance requirements specific to public agency standards.
  • Perform accurate quantity takeoffs across multiple trades, ensuring alignment with prevailing wage requirements and public procurement guidelines.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, ensuring competitive pricing and full scope coverage.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and agency representatives to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies during the pre-bid phase.
  • Prepare and submit bid packages in accordance with agency timelines and formats, including all required documentation and certifications.
  • Maintain cost history and benchmarking data for public works projects to support future estimating and strategic pricing.
  • Participate in bid openings and post-bid evaluations, providing insights on pricing strategy, scope coverage, and potential value engineering options.
  • Support the multifamily division by assisting with quantity takeoffs and preliminary pricing for new construction and renovation projects.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in hard bid estimating for construction projects, including ground-up and interior scopes.
  • Proven track record estimating public works projects such as aviation, municipal, county, and city buildings.
  • Strong proficiency in quantity takeoffs across multiple trades using industry-standard software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Excel).
  • Familiarity with prevailing wage regulations, public procurement processes, and bid compliance documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, and agency representatives.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills to meet strict bid deadlines.
