Moderate to extensive Family Law and Estate Planning, Guardianship and/or litigation experience and/or support is required for small, busy, fast paced solo practitioner within the fields of Family and Estate/Probate Law in Plantation, Florida. (Excellent opportunity for current law students or students potentially seeking entry into law school.)
Candidate must be quick learner, capable of working independently, being well organized, self-motivated, excellent telephone etiquette, and a “team player.”
Duties include e-portal filing(s), client contact, client billing, letters to opposing counsel, and preparation of all family law required documents and forms under the direction of an attorney, including but not limited to, the preparation of subpoenas, and the propounding of, and response to, client interrogatories and demands for production of documents. The Candidate will also assist with coordination of hearings, trial and hearing preparation, copying, scanning, and answering the telephone.
Family Law Discovery/Mandatory Disclosure experience and/or accounting experience a plus. Preferably looking for an individual with strong grammar/writing skills, as individual will be provided an opportunity to assist Attorney with the drafting of Motions and Pleadings. Accordingly, great opportunity for an individual to obtain “real-world” law firm work experience.
Other duties include filing, photocopying, scanning, data entry, miscellaneous clerical duties. Individual must be punctual, organized, detail oriented, has multi-task skills who can work well under the time constraints of a busy law practice. Individuals who are interested in this position must be able to handle confidential information pertaining to clients, as well as work under extreme deadlines to carry out materials for court proceedings. Minimum of 50 to 60 wpm.
MS Word proficient and Outlook/Office 2024. Salary commensurate with experience. Knowlege of multi-media posting/design a plus.
