Alpha Fresh, LLC is a United States repacking company headquartered in Rio Rico, Arizona. Established in October 2020, Alpha Fresh is devoted to providing the highest in and out and repacking services for all types of fruits and vegetables. Our season is from October 1 through June 31 as such is the time period of the produce season in the Santa Cruz, County, Rio Rico, Arizona area. During this time a wide array of fruits and vegetables imported from Mexico come into season and are distributed through the produce companies of the area. These produce companies then hire Alpha Fresh to inspect, clean, and repackage these products into bags and containers as specified for distribution to produce retailers throughout the United States.
Alpha Fresh, LLC is looking to fill Food Repacker positions in Santa Cruz County (785 E. Frontage Road, Rio Rico, AZ 85648) Arizona. This is a temporary, full-time, seasonal position and we are looking to fill ten (10) job openings for employment from October 01, 2024 to June 30, 2025.
Duties: Examine products (fruits and vegetables) to ensure quality; Clean products; Package products into bags, cardboard containers or reusable plastic containers as instructed by client; Repackage products into different boxes and containers; Clean work areas using cleaning solutions and hand tools; Examine and inspect containers prior to placing products inside; Discard non-compliance products and place them in specified area; Count products and materials; Seal containers or packages after products are placed inside. Use scales to weigh bags with products as required.
Requirements: Must have ability to perform job duties, including standing for extended periods of time, and work full time hours (40 hours per week).
Terms and Conditions of Employment: $14.01/hr, 40hrs/wk, Mon-Fri, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Schedule varies). Overtime is available as needed. Overtime rate of pay is at least $21.02 per hour. Temporary Employment: Dates of Intended Employment 10/01/2024 - 06/30/2025.
Transportation: From the place from which the worker has come to work, whether in the U.S. or abroad, to the place of employment, if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will provide advance payment for transportation and subsistence (including meals and to the extent necessary, lodging) from the place of recruitment to the place of employment.
Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the work originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
Three-fourths guarantee: The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
Tools, equipment and supplies: The employer will provide to workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
Miscellaneous: the employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due; The pay period is every week; The employer will make all payroll deductions required by law and will not make any deductions, which are not required by law; The employer will reimburse an H-2B worker in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (need not include passport expenses or other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker).
