The Role

A warm and generous family is seeking a dedicated, career travel nanny to provide high-quality, child-focused care for their joyful 7-year-old son and accompany them on many exciting adventures . The family is relaxed, fun-loving , and looking for someone who can devote their full attention to their son’s well-being, development, and happiness.

The child is active, energetic , and loves outdoor play and activities such as horseback riding, biking, trampolining, boating, and various water sports including jet skiing and tubing . A confident swimmer is essential for this role. The family enjoys both domestic and international travel , making this a travel-heavy position.

Due to early toxin exposure, the child does have some developmental delays . He is currently mostly non-verbal but is steadily progressing and beginning to use more words. Despite these challenges, he is emotionally very well-adjusted, experiences no distress , and is truly one of the happiest, most joyful children you will ever meet . He is highly intelligent, curious, and engaged in the world around him. The family works closely with a team of specialists to support his ongoing care and development. The nanny will be responsible for administering his daily medications.

The ideal candidate should be patient, nurturing , and supportive demeanor. Previous experience working with children who have developmental delays is highly preferred. A candidate who is compassionate, observant, and genuinely invested in helping children thrive will be the best fit for this role.

The right nanny will be upbeat, fun, flexible , and comfortable adapting to changing schedules . This person should also be physically fit and energetic . The parents are seeking someone who is looking for a long-term position, where a genuine and lasting bond with their child can be nurtured over time.

Job Title: Full-Time Live-Out Career Travel Nanny

Reporting to: The Parents

Location: Charleston, SC

Hours: During the school year, Monday through Friday, 3:30pm-8:30pm and Saturdays or Sundays for a couple of hours; Summers must be flexible; flexibility is of the utmost importance (overall on average will be 32-37 hours per week)

Salary: Starting at $40 per hour, depending on experience (40 hours per week guaranteed paid, any hours in excess of 40 per week will be paid overtime of time and a half)

Benefits: Medical stipend, PTO, sick days, main federal holidays paid (but must be flexible to work if needed)

The Family: Father, Mother, and 7-year-old son

Pets : No pets

Other staff: Private home-school teacher, a housekeeper, house manager, and personal assistant

Relocation : Family is open to relocating the right candidate

Accommodation : If relocating for the role, the family is happy to provide a private, off-site apartment if needed

Key Responsibilities*

Childcare

• Provide attentive, high-quality daily care including dressing, meals, school runs, homework supervision, bath time, and bedtime.
• Manage the child’s weekly schedule, coordinating activities, events, and appointments.
• Support the child’s health and well-being, including administering medicine when needed.
• Assist with educational development by ensuring homework and school projects are completed and maintaining regular communication with teachers.
• Engage the child in age-appropriate, screen-free (or educational screen) activities such as baking, arts and crafts, outdoor play, sports, reading, and imaginative games.
• Manage and order supplies, clothing, books, toys, and ensure unused items are donated or recycled.

Light Housekeeping (as needed)

• Occasionally assist with tidying the child’s bedroom, play areas, and kitchen when the housekeeper is unavailable.
• General household help only when required—primary focus remains on childcare.

Supporting the Family & Team

• Contributing to the smooth running of household where possible, if asked
• Communicating regularly with the parents about the child’s schedule, progress, and well-being

Cooking & Kitchen

• Cooking for the child as required (he is Gluten and Dairy-free) or assisting with meal preparation (washing/cutting vegetables)
• Tidying the kitchen after meal preparation and ensuring all food prep (e.g. equipment, ingredients, etc. is stored in the appropriate location and nothing is left out, in absence of the housekeeper)

Travel

• Significant domestic and international travel with the family as needed (ski destinations, West Palm Beach, Caribbean, and Europe); most trips are around one week to ten days; January month in Florida and month trips to Europe in coming summers
• Assist with packing and unpacking for trips
• Flexibility with schedule, including days and hours, is required while traveling (the parents are mindful of ensuring the nanny has appropriate time off)
• Engaging in fun activities with child while traveling (water sports, swimming, beach, et cetera)
• While traveling, the nanny typically shares a room with the child

Requirements

• Strong command of English language; good communication skills, both written and verbal
• A clean valid drivers’ license with a preference for car (but family can provide if needed)
• Legally able to work within the United States
• Minimum 5 years working in a similar role; ideally with travel experience
• Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally, without restrictions
• Experience working with child of the same age and an understanding of their development
• Basic computer and phone skills (ability to receive email instructions, group text chat for communication)
• Must be a confident swimmer (they go boating and engage in water sports)
• First Aid/ CPR trained
• Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
• Happy to have a background check run (criminal & driver)
• Happy to sign a confidentiality agreement and non-disclosure agreement before starting work with the family.
