Job Description

Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Graphic Designer. This position requires the person to:

  • Work as a part of our in-house creative team to create visual solutions (print and digital) using digital software in order to communicate ideas that inspire, inform and captivate the targeted audience.
  • Communicate effectively with clients about design, format, and timeframes.
  • Prepare finished artwork that meets both digital and print requirements.
  • Creatively uphold our brand identity standards by following the corporate style guide.
  • Work independently with clients to determine: their project needs, their intended audience, and how to best achieve the results they desire.
  • Manage all aspects of increasingly complex projects.
  • Ensure a consistent and effective visual brand and message is contained in all finished projects.
  • Stay up-to-date with current design trends and techniques.
  • Travel and attend meetings, seminars, and conferences as required.
  • Coordinate the applicable aspects of projects with outside agencies, vendors, printers, and clients as necessary.
  • Assist with other duties in the department or elsewhere upon request.

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud software (i.e. Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign) and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to demonstrate design skills with a strong portfolio.

Education

Bachelor’s degree; or several years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Currently or recently previously engaged in Company approved education programs is required. These requirements may be waived, or changed by the Company, based on prior education or experience.
