Job Description

Advanced Infusion Care specializes in intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (Sub Q) immunoglobulin therapy patient care. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Home Infusion Biller to join our dynamic team! This role is a full-time position responsible for billing process for our IG division.

The perfect candidate should have outstanding communication skills, an in-depth knowledge of billing practices, work in compliance with Federal and State rules, regulations, and policy related to billing and collection activities. The ideal candidate should also be detail oriented, understand contract analysis and reimbursement. CPR + experience is a Plus.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for creating and submitting claims to payers so that the healthcare provider will receive reimbursement for medical services rendered. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent is required; some college preferred with medical insurance billing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Determines appropriate action needed for confirmed delivery tickets within 3 days of confirmation.

· Ensures invoices are created appropriately based on the payer type for the assigned payer.

· Ensures that the appropriate authorization and diagnosis are assigned to the claim.

· Prepares and submits clean claims to various insurance companies either electronically or by paper.

· Creates and saves drug invoices when warranted.

· Recognizes patients’ rights and responsibilities and supports them in the performance of job duties; respects patient’s rights to privacy and confidentiality.

· Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.

· Generates “clean” claims on a consistent basis.

· Works up all claims billed the previous day (secondary biller and claim’s generator only).

· Maintains a thorough understanding of NDC (National Drug Code) numbers, how to convert drug dosages into appropriate billing units per HCPC.

· Shares knowledge gained with other staff members and works as a team member.

· Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner.

· Performs other job related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

· Knowledge of medical insurance billing.

· Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.

· Ability to make decisions, solve problems, and work independently with little supervision.

· Demonstrate extreme attention to detail and accuracy.

· Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

· Basic computer proficiency.

· Knowledge in the use of Microsoft applications.
