Job Description

Sterling Search Partner is helping a Birmingham Insurance client with its search for an Account Manager. As an Insurance Account Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining client relationships, ensuring their insurance needs are met, and providing exceptional customer service. The role combines elements of sales, customer service, and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, answering inquiries, and resolving issues.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
  • Understand the clients' insurance needs and recommend suitable coverage options.

Policy Management:

  • Review and manage clients' insurance policies to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist clients in policy renewals, modifications, and cancellations.
  • Help clients file claims and track their claim status.

Sales and Upselling:

  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities for additional insurance products.
  • Present and explain new insurance offerings to clients.
  • Help clients understand the benefits and costs of various policies.

Documentation and Administration:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in the insurance management system.
  • Prepare and submit policy quotes and proposals.
  • Process policy changes, endorsements, and cancellations.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with underwriters and other insurance professionals to ensure proper coverage.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to attract and retain clients.
  • Liaise with claims departments to manage and resolve claims efficiently.

Compliance and Industry Knowledge:

  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and new products.
  • Ensure clients’ policies comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or relevant industry certifications (e.g., Licensed Insurance Agent).
  • Experience: Previous experience in insurance sales, customer service, or account management is often required.
