Russell Tobin is seeking a Lab Technician II for an American multinational conglomerate operating in the fields of industry, worker safety, healthcare, and consumer goods.

Job Title: Lab Technician II

Location: Maplewood, MN (on-site)

Job Type: Contract

Length: 12-Months

Hours: 1st shift, 40 hours/week

Pay Rate: $24.00 - $27.50 per hour

Overview:

• Company is currently seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to join their Commercial Branding & Transportation Product Platform Sustainability and Technology lab team. As a Lab Tech, you will play a crucial role in conducting various tests and experiments to ensure the quality and safety of our products.
• Worker performs physical, chemical and/or mechanical analyses and tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes and products. This is a very active position and will require someone with a strong work ethic to keep up.
• This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties:
• Prepare materials and organize for product testing. This may require movement of packages up to 60 lbs.
• Assist in laboratory experiments through testing and evaluation of new materials and products based on research.
• Follow mechanical and chemical based test methods to produce datasets used for product and technology development.
• Provide data analysis and clear communication to product and technology development teams.
• May test or make visual observations on product samples from competitors and communicate test results to the appropriate requester.
• Worker will conduct hands-on tests with multiple pieces of equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

• Able to work 8-4 M-F
• Ability to lift/carry at least 60 pounds.
• Ability to use a ladder/step stool to work from an elevated surface.
• Have proficient hand eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Preferred Qualifications:

• College degree in the science or chemistry preferred
• Strong organizational skills, self-motivated and results driven.
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both written & oral.
• Adaptability to team needs and working for many individuals in various groups.
• Demonstrated adherence to lab safety protocol.
• At least 2 years prior laboratory or manufacturing experience.
• Experience use in Excel and Word.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, solve problems and implement solutions.
• Ability to take instructions (verbal and written) and complete a task with little or no supervision
