Job Description

Job Description: Our client located in Boston, MA is seeking a Lab Technician to support critical public health testing and laboratory operations. This role will assist with specimen handling, laboratory testing, and quality control procedures, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatroy standards.

Onsite: Monday - Friday; 8 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, label, log, and prepare clinical and environmental specimens for testing.
  • Handle and transport specimens in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure sample integrity.
  • Perform routine laboratory techniques under the direction of senior laboratory staff.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Prepare reagents, solutions, and media needed for testing.
  • Follow established safety guidelines, biosafety protocols, and quality assurance practices.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of testing and quality control results.
  • Assist in inventory management of laboratory supplies and materials.
  • Support laboratory staff in special projects and surge testing needs as required.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Infectious Disease, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Previous experience in a hospital, clinical, or public health laboratory setting preferred.
  • General knowledge of laboratory techniques for handling, processing, and transporting biological and chemical specimens.
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, organized records.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to follow written protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements consistently.
