Summary of Position
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced laboratory technician to assist in the day-to-day operations of Toralgen’s laboratory. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment. This role involves proper disposal of waste, equipment maintenance, and inventory tracking, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and laboratory protocols.
Key Responsibilities
General lab cleaning and waste handling:
· Proper disposal of chemical, biohazardous, and broken glass waste (previous chemical and/or biohazard waste handling preferred)
· Removing trash and recycling from labs and office spaces
· cleaning glassware and putting items away
· restocking lab supplies and consumables
· maintain the receiving log
· track material (polymer, API, and batch formulation) usage
· Organize and maintain storage unit spaces containing samples/inventory (freezers and refrigerators)
Equipment Maintenance:
· Perform lab equipment preventive maintenance tasks (ex. freezers, lyophilizers, vacuum pumps, balances, pH meters, pipettes, particle sizer, etc.)
· Schedule preventative maintenance around formulation and QC work
· Stay with technicians and service engineers while performing calibration work
· Work with our QA Engineer to maintain the Equipment Log
Office skills:
· Ability to use Office Microsoft suite
· Data entry in spreadsheets
· Following written and verbal instructions
Basic Qualifications
· Excellent organizational and project management skills. A proven history of driving projects to completion and achieving project timelines.
· Ability to work within a team and as a strong team player with strong collaboration mind set, communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a wide range of internal/external partners.
