Job Description

Solid, growing importer and distributor hiring an experienced operations manager.

This role oversees the full execution of ocean import shipments into the United States, including procurement, transportation, storage, and final distribution. The successful individual will collaborate with local and overseas business partners to forecast, analyze, improve and grow the operation.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise small team of operations professionals who handle daily activities.

Resolve escalated issues with honesty, professionalism and urgency.
Measure productivity and ensure KPIs are met or exceeded.
Propose ideas for ways to improve SOPs, grow the business, and save money.

Enforce compliance with quality and food safety regulations.

Perform inventory control and audits to ensure balance of product.
Review all phases of transportation and work with suppliers, vendors, and

carriers to maximize efficiency, control costs, and meet customer requirements.
Maintain all transactions, contracts, documentation, and financial records.

Key Requirements:
At least 5 years in logistics, preferably in food distribution.
Familiar with regulations related to importation of foodstuffs.
Understanding of international cargo transportation operations.
Experience negotiating and building relationships with vendors.
Ability to interpret and improve SOPs, KPIs and policies.
Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with WMS, ERP, MS Office, and other industry software.

Enthusiastic and does not wilt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Industry certifications a plus.
Fluent in Spanish.
