Job Overview

We are seeking a Low Voltage Technician to assist with physical security system installations for our commercial clients. This role requires access control expertise and the ability to execute complex security projects from initial setup through final implementation. 50% travel required including statewide and nationwide project coverage

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and configure access control systems according to project specifications and client requirements
  • Execute system deployments, including implementation and integration with existing infrastructure
  • Work on multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
  • Perform technical assessments of security system installations
  • Follow standard operating procedures for installations and maintenance
  • Apply best practices and troubleshooting methodologies
  • Assist with challenging installations and system integrations
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards and complete required documentation for all projects

 

Travel Requirements

This position demands extensive travel commitment and flexibility. Candidates should be prepared for:

Regular multi-week deployments to project sites across different states

Frequent domestic air travel (30% of projects require flights)

Extended stays of 1+ weeks at project locations

Local and regional driving between client sites (up to 3-4 hours)

Last-minute travel for critical client needs or system emergencies

Management of travel logistics and documentation

 

Required Qualifications

1+ years of experience in commercial security systems installation and integration

Knowledge of access control systems and integration protocols

Strong background in IP networking and security system architecture

Valid driver's license and ability to pass enhanced security clearance

Proven track record of successful project completion

 

Preferred Qualifications

CISSP, CCNA Security, or comparable certifications

Advanced training in enterprise access control platforms (Lenel, S2, AMAG, etc.)

Experience with enterprise video management systems

Master Electrician license

Experience with cloud-based security platforms

Background in system commissioning

Pay Scale Structure:

Level 1 Technician - minimum experience - Basic cable running ($28 per hour)

Level 2 Technician - 1-2 years of cabling and access control/network camera experience ($30 per hour)

Level 3 Technician - 2+ years experience in the above areas and certifications in CISSP, CCNA Security or similar ($31-$34/hour)
