Medical Records Clerk, On-site (Not a remote position)

Employee Daycare Rates

  • Infants (6 weeks to 15 months) - $133 weekly, $27 daily
  • Toddlers (15 months to 2 yrs) - $126 weekly, $26 daily
  • 2 years to 3 years - $119 weekly, $25 daily
  • 4 years to 5 years - $112 weekly, $23 daily

*The pay range for this position is $15/hr. to $16/hr.

 

Job Preview

This position is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the medical records related to the physician’s practices, working under the guidelines of HIPAA and the general HMC record retention policies. Additional responsibilities could include release of information practices. Employees must work in the Hopedale Medical facility Med Records department. This is not a remote position.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining patient records in both electronic and paper formats.
  • Transporting medical records, or other related material, to and from hospital department’s areas as needed/requested.
  • Examining patient medical records for completeness, ensuring all information is included (no deficiencies) and referring to the appropriate area for follow up.
  • Scanning of medical record and loose material.
  • Responsible for answering department calls and responding to requests promptly.
  • Locating, delivering, retrieving, purging, and filing medical records daily.
  • Responsible for the organization of the HIM Chart Room and other HIM Chart Storage locations.

  • Successful applicant should possess a high school diploma (or equivalent) with training or familiarity with office duties.
  • Ability to use a computer to perform word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics, if assigned.
  • Medical terminology and previous experience in a medical records/health information management environment, extremely helpful. 
  • RHIT or RHIA certification preferred
  • Must be able to commute to work
