Job Description Job Title: Molding Engineer
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Molding Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plastic injection molding and be responsible for the development, implementation, and optimization of molding processes for medical device components. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and validate injection molding processes for medical device components.
- Design and troubleshoot molds to ensure product quality and process efficiency.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to address and resolve technical issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for molding defects.
- Implement and maintain process control techniques and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO, and other regulatory standards.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to equipment, tooling, and materials.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of molding processes and validations.
- Provide technical support and training to production personnel.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in injection molding, preferably in the medical device industry.
- Strong knowledge of injection molding machines, tooling, and materials.
- Proficient in CAD software and mold flow analysis.
- Experience with process validation and statistical process control (SPC).
