Our client, a nationally recognized hospital at the forefront of compassionate end-of-life care for terminally ill adults, is seeking a Palliative Care Nurse Manager with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). This leadership role is ideal for a mission-driven nurse leader dedicated to excellence in palliative and geriatric care. The Palliative Care Nurse Manager will oversee a 50-bed inpatient unit, managing clinical and administrative operations on a 24-hour basis. This leader will plan, coordinate, direct, and evaluate unit activities and staff performance to ensure delivery of exceptional patient-centered care. The Nurse Manager will also collaborate cross-functionally to align unit goals with hospital-wide standards and participate actively in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage nursing operations for a 50-bed palliative care unit.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality care in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, institutional nursing standards, and geriatric best practices.
  • Promote a culture of clinical excellence, compassion, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate nursing staff performance.
  • Optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with other departments to meet the physiological, psychological, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
  • Drive continuous improvement through participation in quality assessment and performance improvement programs.

Qualifications

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license (in good standing).
  • 3–5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, preferably in palliative, hospice, or geriatric settings.
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
