The Role:
We are looking for two motivated Palestine Researchers to join our team. In this role, you will help collect, review, and manage data related to political violence and protests in Israel and Palestine. This is a fully remote position, requiring a commitment of 25 to 30 hours per week, with deliverables submitted weekly on Saturdays or Sundays. This is an entry-level contractor position that offers a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in data collection and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Collection: Review news articles, reports from international organizations, NGOs, and security agencies to gather information on political violence incidents. You will enter this data into an Excel template, focusing on providing comprehensive coverage of events, including protests and clashes.
Data Review and Management: Ensure the quality, consistency, and reliability of the data collected. This role emphasizes attention to detail and the importance of producing accurate quantitative data.
Training and Duration:
Selected candidates will undergo extensive training to equip them with the necessary skills for the role. Training will involve a series of exercises, and only those who meet performance standards will be retained as Researchers. The initial consultancy period is from October 2024 to June 2025, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability.

Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $20
Qualifications and Skills:
We are seeking candidates who possess the following skills and experience:
A university degree in conflict studies, peacebuilding, international development, or a related field.
Proficiency in Excel is essential.
Fluency in English and Arabic is required; Hebrew proficiency is preferred.
Research experience or a strong interest in conflict research or peacebuilding in Palestine or related regional studies is a significant advantage.
Familiarity with the political context and key actors in the region.
Experience in desk-based research and working to deadlines with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and a willingness to accept and incorporate feedback.
Access to a computer, reliable internet, email, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
