Job Description

Part-Time 988 Lifeline Worker (Night Shift)

We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as part-time 988 Lifeline Workers. This role involves providing critical support to individuals in emotional distress through a direct three-digit phone line. Starting July 16, 2022, 988 will be available 24/7, 365 days a year, offering free, confidential emotional support to those in need. The position requires availability for at least two overnight shifts per week, with a pay rate of $20/hr. Initial training will take place in the Framingham office, followed by a remote work arrangement.

Qualified candidates must have a high school degree and prior telephone or call-center experience, especially in roles focused on providing emotional support, is highly preferred. Applicants should have experience with data gathering techniques and demonstrated aptitude with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, databases, and other software systems. The ability to deescalate crisis situations while maintaining composure is essential. Candidates must be able to attend training in Framingham, MA, and must have a Mac (Google Chrome access) or PC, strong Wi-Fi, and headphones with a microphone compatible with their computer. A quiet workspace for working from home is also required.
