Position: Patient Services Coordinator

Location: Boston, MA 02215

Duration: 13 weeks (Possibility of extension)

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities of the Job:

1. Schedules surgical procedures at outpatient facilities, making sure all surgical block time is utilized.
2. Releases any unused blocks in a timely manner to prevent surgeons from being penalized.
3. Works with patient to ensure the required ancillary appointments are scheduled in a timely manner and they understand the pre- and post-surgical requirements.
4. Maintains multiple automated schedules for surgeons.
5. Works with patient to obtain all necessary referrals for pre-surgical appointments and works directly with insurance company to obtain any prior authorizations for surgical procedures.
6. Assembles all necessary paper work for surgery packets and ensures that packets are received by Pre-Admission Offices and Operation Room in timely manner.

Required:

1. HS diploma or equivalent, Bachelors or Associates degree preferred
2. Min of 3 years of experience in a medical setting
3. The Surgical Coordinator is responsible for scheduling all major surgical procedures including, but not necessarily limited to, vitreo-retinal and cataract surgery.

1. COVID Vaccines + Booster vaccine card required.
