• Ability to communicate verbally with others.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Transports patients safely between departments using wheelchairs as appropriate.
• Utilizes patient safety criteria and correct patient handoff processes.
• Ensures that patient is comfortable during the transporting process.
• Provides assistance to patient, family and health care staff as needed.
• Places equipment not in use in assigned location and ensures equipment is clean and in proper working order.

Physical Requirements

• The physical activities of this position may include pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
• Must have good balance and coordination.
• The physical requirements of this position are: medium work
• Frequent non-invasive patient contact.
• Ability to react quickly to emergency situations
