Key Requirements

• Payroll Experience : At least 5 years, handling both hourly and salaried payrolls.
• Union Payroll : Knowledge of shift differentials, holiday pay, and union rules.
• Tax Knowledge : Especially for complex states (California, Ohio, Pennsylvania, etc.). Must handle payroll across all U.S. states and localities (37k+ employees).
• Systems :
• PeopleSoft (main payroll system).
• ServiceNow or similar case resolution software.
• Excel : Strong skills in VLOOKUP, formulas, MATCH, pivot tables, charts, and reporting.
• Timekeeping : Experience with Kronos/Workforce Solutions preferred.
• Education : High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Certifications : FPC or CPP certification is a plus.
• Soft Skills : Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical thinking, ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on time for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states/provinces and pay frequencies (weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, and special runs).
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and provincial tax laws.
• Input and maintain employee information (direct deposit, tax data, deductions, etc.).
• Maintain payroll records, timekeeping systems, and databases.
• Resolve employee payroll questions and discrepancies with excellent customer service.
• Support audits, follow SOX payroll controls, and ensure accuracy of reporting.
• Pull and load time files into PeopleSoft.
• Conduct time analysis for locations and provide payroll reports.
• Assist with payroll-related projects, analysis, and training.
• Create and deliver training materials for payroll processes.
• Work with cross-functional teams and adapt to new payroll/timekeeping systems.
