Job Description

**Performance Analyst Team Leader** Chicago Performance Analyst Full-Time The role of the Team Leader is to provide daily oversight to the Performance Analyst team at Marquette Associates. **Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:**

  • Monitor and ensure data integrity for performance system, calculations, and output
  • Ensure data accuracy by completing monthly and quarterly audits of performance analyst work
  • Develop and maintain master production schedule for performance analyst team
  • Develop new and refine existing process and control procedures to increase effectiveness of performance analyst team
  • Regularly monitor performance analyst Hub scores and manage workload and transitions accordingly
  • Partner with Pod leaders and senior client analysts to transition clients to new performance analysts, solicit Pod approvals, communicate transitions
  • Partner with the directors of Research to communicate and coordinate transition plans for performance analysts who accept roles on the Research team
  • Adhere to client deadlines, new client onboarding and continual refinement of product formats
  • Lead recommendations for performance analyst training and development, implement training
  • Host regular meetings and/or training sessions to discuss learning opportunities and/or changes in performance analyst processes
  • Be available to answer day-to-day questions as they come up
  • Build library of training videos for performance analyst tasks
  • Provide feedback and regularly check in with CA Team Leader(s), Pod Leaders, Human Resources, and other members of the leadership team
  • Complete peer reviews for performance analysts during Marquettes twice-annual performance review cycles as needed
  • Conduct quarterly one-on-one meetings with performance analysts to check in, discuss career pathing, and set short- and long-term goals
  • Identify performance issues, liaison with Pod leaders to correct, put on performance improvement plans as needed
  • Partner with Human Resources to execute and manage performance improvement plans as needed; review performance analysts work diligently if put on PIP
  • Assist/advise on promotions to senior performance analyst and associate client analyst
  • Actively participate in the year-round performance analyst recruitment effort, including but not limited to: screening resumes, conducting video or in-person interviews, providing and soliciting feedback, and ensuring Marquette establishes a pipeline of well-rounded and diverse performance analysts
  • Manage and regularly revise new performance analyst onboarding
  • Plan and execute 2-week preparation period and 3-week training sessions for all new PAs (5 weeks total commitment)
  • Oversee and manage PA Training Committee (~4 members)
  • Participate in and provide data and relevant information during regular Oversight Committee meetings
  • Partner with PA research program lead (Dave Hernandez) to check in and ensure the PAs are meeting goals and program requirements
  • Work with Information Technology team to continuously update workflow enhancements in the Hub
  • *Qualifications:**
  • Bachelors degree in Finance or related field and at least three (3) years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of investment industry (e.g., general financial markets knowledge, asset allocation, performance analysis, portfolio construction, investment policy, asset transfers and rebalancing)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skillset is a plus
  • Proven ability to learn new systems; experience with Investment Metrics (formerly InvestorForce) is a plus
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrates attention to detail and highly organized
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and react to change positively
  • Experience with financial reporting and/or legal, compliance functions
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
