Launched in June 2018, Simple Flying is the leading independent voice for aviation news and insight. Our goal is to provide a one-stop hub for all the important stories on commercial aviation, sharing the news in a simple, accessible way. We cover all regions and all aspects of commercial aviation, as well as loyalty and private aviation. We’re digital first, and all of our content is free to read and access.

We are looking to expand our coverage of private aviation .

Overview: As a freelance private aviation writer, you will be responsible for creating engaging and informative content on everything related to private aviation including but not limited to private jets, business flights, and on-demand charters. You will work closely with the editorial team to pitch, research, and write articles that inform and inspire readers. This is a remote position, and we welcome collaborators from anywhere in the world.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop content focused on the engineering, technological advancements, and design aesthetics of private jets.
• Build and maintain a network of sources within private aviation, including manufacturers, designers, regulators, and owners.
• Collaborate with photographers and videographers to produce visually engaging content that complements written articles.

Skills We’re Looking For :

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Communications. (not required)
• Proven experience as an aviation writer, preferably with published work related to private aviation.
• Expert knowledge of aircraft models, manufacturers, and industry leaders in private aviation.
• Understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks governing private aviation globally.
• Proficiency in the latest aviation technologies and their applications in private flight, including safety systems, avionics, and propulsion technologies.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret market data and forecast industry trends.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex aviation terms for a general audience.
