JOB DESCRIPTION

Apex Systems is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our PMO organization. As Project Manager you will be responsible for eliciting and understanding business requirements, collaborating with product owners and application development teams, and delivering innovative solutions. This role requires exceptional communication, analysis, and critical thinking skills to drive successful outcomes with on-time delivery, in scope and budget. This role will manage a complex project with a focus on ensuring alignment with Apex’s strategic goal. As the Project Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Engaging with key stakeholders and understand business needs, gather requirements, and define project scope and objectives.
  • Developing innovative technology solutions, making recommendations for process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Translating business requirements into detailed application requirements, ensuring successful collaboration with product owners and development teams.
  • Facilitating effective communication across teams internally and externally, ensuring clarity and addressing concerns to drive project success.
  • Responsible for managing scope, schedule, and cost of a project by leveraging Project management best practices.
  • Developing and maintaining a traceability matrix to ensure all business requirements are met, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
  • Identifying potential risks early and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project scope, timeline, budget and quality.
  • Post-Release Support: Work closely with technical and data analysis teams to troubleshoot defects and ensure successful post-release support.
  • Developing optimization strategies and action plans to address identified issues and enhance operational efficiency including monitoring progress and ensuring that improvements are successfully integrated into daily operations.
  • Establishing KPIs and performance metrics to track the impact of optimization efforts and make real-time adjustments as needed.
  • Leveraging tools and technology to aid in optimization efforts.
  • Helping to shape change management process within optimization projects and initiatives to identify and manage resistance to change.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field, preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in project management.
  • Proven experience with technology or IT driven projects in both Agile and Waterfall environments through SDLC.
  • Proven experience in project management for enterprise systems, with a strong emphasis on Workday Financials and PeopleSoft (PSFT) implementations or enhancements.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Salesforce, PeopleSoft, and applicant tracking systems (e.g., Bullhorn), with a preference for candidates who have supported financial or HR modules within these environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with senior business leaders, subject matter experts, and technical teams to define and document business models, requirements, and specifications
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, troubleshooting, and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) or JIRA and ServiceNow SPM
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
  • PMP certified; additional certifications such as CSP-SM, Lean Six Sigma, ITIL are helpful
