Monument Advocacy seeks college-, post-graduate- or graduate-level candidates for a PUBLIC POLICY INTERNSHIP based in the firm’s Washington, DC office. Monument is a nationally recognized consulting firm, focused on Government relations, strategic communications, and public affairs. We maintain groundbreaking practices in numerous fields, including technology and innovation; sustainability; tax, trade, and economic policy; travel and immigration; defense and cybersecurity; healthcare; food, agriculture, energy, and more. Interns will have significant opportunities to witness the public policy and legislative process first-hand and to gain real government relations, public affairs, and strategic communications experience.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Conducting legislative, political, and policy research;
- Tracking bills, regulatory developments, and current events related to client interests;
- Covering congressional hearings, briefings, and off-the-Hill policy events;
- Assisting in business development proposals and research.
The goal of the internship program is to expose highly motivated pre- and early-career professionals to the everyday operations of a government relations firm. Interns will be given meaningful assignments in order to develop a range of skills including research and writing; personal development through inter-office communication and team-building skills; critical thinking and time management based on real-life deadlines; and a realistic understanding of the legislative process. Interns will compile research on current legislative matters and write short memos informing clients of key takeaways. They will assist client managers with the preparation of congressional hearing memos and event summaries.
A successful Intern will possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and the desire to learn more about Congress and the public policy process.
Due date for application for the Fall 2025 Class is July 25. This internship is in-person.
