Registered Nurse - Rochester, NY (#R10004)

Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced School Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality, best-practice care in a school-based setting. This role involves managing and maintaining student health, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, collaborating with various stakeholders, and fostering a healthy and supportive environment for students and staff, located in Rochester, NY.

Schedule of the Registered Nurse:

  • This is a Full-time position.

Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse:

  • Provide oversight for school health services at assigned school sites.
  • Develop and monitor health plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities.
  • Conduct health screenings, including vision, hearing, dental, scoliosis, and nutritional assessments.
  • Administer medications and provide treatments as prescribed.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide crisis nursing care.
  • Maintain student health records and ensure compliance with state and local health policies.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and healthcare providers to support student health.
  • Provide health education to students, families, and school personnel.
  • Participate in 504 and IEP meetings to provide medical expertise.
  • Supervise and train LPNs and other support staff in specialized healthcare procedures.

Requirements

  • Candidates will need to provide a copy of AED and CPR certifications.
  • Must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Must have an active RN license in New York State.
  • National School Nurse Certification preferred.
  • Experience in pediatric or community health nursing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
