Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Interventional Radiology
Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601
Contract: 13 Weeks
Hours Per Week: 40 Hours
Shift: 4*10
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Interventional Radiology is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic radiologic procedures. The RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, individualized patient care, monitor patient status, administer medications, and support seamless transitions in care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with patients, nursing colleagues, and healthcare team members regarding patient status, care, and treatment plans.
- Administer medications safely utilizing bar-scanning and electronic documentation technology.
- Perform ongoing point-of-care electronic documentation, including patient assessments, care plans, interventions, and evaluations.
- Provide patient and family-centered education to optimize health, wellness, and disease management.
- Support multi-disciplinary discharge planning to ensure continuity and safety of patient care.
- Assist in interventional radiology procedures, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
- Monitor patient conditions before, during, and after procedures, promptly addressing any complications.
- Maintain proficiency in sedation administration, patient monitoring, and emergency response protocols.
- Rotate on-call responsibilities as needed to support emergency and after-hours procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required.
- Minimum of six (6) months of relevant nursing experience.
- Strong ability to adapt to changing patient needs and clinical environments.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Certifications & Licensure:
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License or multi-state compact license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association.
