Research Associate - Contract - San Diego, CA

Proclinical is seeking a bold and dedicated RA specializing in histology to support sample preparation for various staining and imaging techniques.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the capabilities of histology operations to drive forward significant R&D projects.

Skills & Requirements:

• bachelor's degree in biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Experience in histology, including grossing, embedding, microtomy, cryo-sectioning, and routine staining.
• Histotechnology Certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with centralized scientific resource facilities.
• Proficiency in using electronic lab notebooks and sample tracking software.
• Strong computer skills and ability to maintain detailed electronic records.

The Research Associate's responsibilities will be:

• Prepare histology samples, including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining for both human and animal tissues.
• Develop and apply specialized assay protocols such as immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, and immunofluorescence.
• Ensure quality control of existing assay and staining methods.
• Support automated specimen and slide tracking systems.
• Collaborate with team leads and vendors to upgrade and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
• Maintain specimen inventories and accurate laboratory records.
• Assist in creating and optimizing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical training materials.

Compensation:

$25.00 - $35.00 Per Hour
