Key Responsibilities:

Project Assessments

  • Conduct detailed roof evaluations, capturing measurements, conditions, photos, field sketches, and notes. Compile thorough take-off reports for internal and client use.

Inspection & Quality Assurance

  • Perform comprehensive inspections of roofing installations and repairs, identifying defects, compliance issues, and areas for improvement.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, including visual documentation and checklists. Deliver clear, professional reports for stakeholders.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure all projects align with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards. Stay informed on evolving codes and best practices.

Client Communication

  • Present inspection findings and recommendations clearly to clients. Address concerns and advise on necessary maintenance or corrective actions.

Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with project managers and roofing teams to enhance quality control procedures and implement feedback-driven improvements.

Safety Oversight

  • Enforce safety protocols on job sites. Identify and document potential hazards to maintain a secure working environment.

Training & Mentorship

  • Support the development of inspection crews by training on quality standards and procedures. Promote continuous learning and compliance.

Final Evaluations

  • Conduct post-project inspections to verify completion to standard and ensure site cleanliness and safety.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in roofing/construction preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years in commercial roofing, with at least 2 years in inspection or quality control.

Skills & Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of commercial roofing systems and installation methods.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with inspection tools and reporting software.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects independently.
  • Physically able to perform roof inspections, including climbing and working at heights.

Certifications

  • Roofing Inspector certification (e.g., NRCA, RCI, RRO) preferred.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification is a plus.
